Secondary Schools Ranks in Perth and Kinross

Our analysis of the latest published achievement data for eleven Perth and Kinross schools reveals that there were no schools in the top 50 secondary schools in Scotland. Six Perth and Kinross schools were ranked in the top half of secondary schools in Scotland and there was one school in the bottom 50 secondary schools in Scotland. See Table 1

Data covering the Scottish Higher Examinations results for the academic year 2024-25 was downloaded from the Government website and combined with results from previous years to provide several years’ data for analysis. The 2026 dataset provided data for 355 secondary schools. This page summarises results for a single local authority. Summary data for Scotland as a whole is also available on this website – see links at bottom of the page.

Perth and Kinross Schools’ Catchment Area Map

A map showing the location of secondary schools within the Perth and Kinross area is shown (Figure 1a and 1b (non-denominational and denominational respectively). Catchment areas, where provided by the local authority are colour coded according to the rank of the secondary school. Note that areas on the map in grey (may look like white on some browsers) represent areas not uniquely allocated to a single school. This may arise when pupils from the area may be allocated to more than one school or in some cases may be due to missing data in the published map files.

Notes on School Catchment Areas
Some local authorities do not make schools’ catchment areas available (i.e. areas on the map that are coloured pale grey) and the catchment areas for catholic schools are not always available.

Individual schools are shown on the map black circles. If you click on the school marker a pop-up will appear with additional information.

Disclaimer
The catchment areas have been smoothed out a little in order to reduce the size of the web page download and will have slight differences. Parents should not rely on the datamap-scotland website to confirm the catchment area for any specific school or house within a zone as these can sometimes be very specific and may vary from data published by https://www.spatialhub.scot. Many authorities publish accurate street by street data on school catchment areas on their websites.
